Dr Vijay Yeldandi is Director of Virinchi Institute of Immunology and Infectious Diseases. He has more than 30 years of clinical experience in Immunology and Infectious Diseases. He is trained and board certified in Infectious Diseases. Dr Vijay is a Clinical Professor of Medicine and Surgery and Faculty Center for Global Health College of Medicine at the University of Illinois in Chicago USA. A lifelong educator he has a special interest in HIV; Fungal infections; infections in immunocompromised hosts such as patients with transplants or chemotherapy for cancer; Design and Implementation of systems for Patient Safety and Prevention and Control of Health Associated Infections. He has a black belt in Six Sigma. He has received awards for excellence in teaching and for his contributions to public health work in India. His work in providing technical support to the Government of India’s HIV programs under NACO are supported by grants from the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. His Publications relate to Transplant and HIV patients and particularly in India. He now spends most of his time in India devoted to clinical care; teaching and research.
